This one day workshop will give you an opportunity to start exploring the ancient metaphorical model of the Five Elements and hopefully get a sense of how it may enrich both your life and your therapeutic practice. The day both stands on its own but can also be a stepping stone to the comprehensive Post Qualifiying Diploma in Creative Application of the Five Elements.

Dates: Face-to-face: Saturday 5 July 2025 from 10am to 4:30pm with 90 minutes for lunch to allow time for processing the morning, taking in the local scenery and maybe going on a refreshing 10 minute wander to Hockey's Farm to check out their cafe and animals.
Location: New Forest: Ibsley Village Hall.
Eligibility: This is open to both qualified and trainee Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
Technical: To view the supporting online resources, you'll need 1) A computer (laptop, PC, Mac, Chromebook etc) or tablet and 2) Me to give you access using your existing, or a new, Google account. You can access the link at the bottom of this page and on supporting resources.
Guided learning: Preparation: 4.5 hours. This includes reading about the key concepts, watching videos, reflecting, writing and practising two techniques. Debrief: 0.5 hours writing reflections on what you've learned from the workshop and your plans to integrate learning into your practise.
Workshop: Five hours involving demonstrations, paired practices and group discussions.
Creative resources kit:
Face to face w/s: You'll get a pack of all the creative resources you'll need to work with the Five Element metaphors, hence the higher fee.
Online w/s: You'll be given details of the creative resources you'll need to get together before the workshop to enable you to do the practical activities.

Learning outcomes
This workshop aims to give you a taste of how to apply the Five Elements metaphors to support your clinical work. It does this by giving you opportunities to:
Start to explore what the Five Elements mean to you.
Facilitate and receive creative therapeutic interventions based on the Five Element metaphors linked to exploring issue-related feelings, core beliefs, needs and strengths.
Explore the use of self acu-touch and acu-tapping methods to promote mindful, embodied, balancing inquiry.
Find out about further sources of information and training.
Reflect on therapeutic applications of what you've learned.
Payment and related terms for CAFE Intro
Payment is by Electronic Fund Transfer: Details provided after completing online registration.
Cancellation:
Up to one week before workshop: Refund of half the fee you paid.
Within one week of workshop: No refund.
If you cancel and wish to apply to do the CAFE Intro on another occasion, you may do this with a £15 reduction off the standard workshop fee.
Repeat workshop: You may repeat the CAFE Intro at half of the standard fee.
While your payment secures lifetime access to the online guided learning resources, you may only state that you have completed this CPD in any promotional material to clients if you have completed the experiential workshop and post-workshop reflection.
